New Features coming soon - You will be able to make friends soon!

Wow, it’s been a great launch year for SiteHoppin’ thanks to everyone who’s using it and submitting new sites.

We’ve reached over 50 users in just 6 days since our public beta launch. (We haven’t officially launched since our site is not finished yet.)

On the plus note, we are also ranked 26,265 on Alexa for January 4th. We don’t know if traffic will keep “virally” increasing but it’s a good sign neverthless.

SiteHoppin Traffic

Above is a glimpse of our traffic stats. It seems like everyone’s starting to find out about SiteHoppin’ through their site stats. You can see various site stat websites such as sitemeter, awstats, wordpress stats, shinystat, blogcatalog, mybloglog, and others.

This is probably the most important core functionality of SiteHoppin’. Every time someone hops a new site, they are sending a “message” to the website owners. This viral effect will take off once we reach 10,000 unique daily visitors. (or we hope)

FYI, SiteHoppin is growing at a pretty steady rate with LOTS of hits. (I guess that’s due to people SiteHoppin’)

Here’s a screenshot of the last 6 days:

Stats

It’s only 7pm so we are hoping to hit at least 5000 unique visitors today but let’s see. The 19K hits looks good though.

New features such as ability to add friends will be added tonight or tomorrow night depending on how drunk we get. You see, SiteHoppin’ developers do not develop anything until they gulped down at least 12 ounces of beer. Why? We need to feel excited as every drunk new user who’d be using it.

The best part about this site is that it runs on MediaWiki, designed for massive user traffic and so far, our server load is still buzzin’ at 0.22.

[...] Well, SiteHoppin is no different. Every time you visit a site on SiteHoppin, you are marking your territory on someone’s site. Those site owners find out through site stats and get to know SiteHoppin and start using it to promote their sites. You can see some of the stats here to see what I mean here on the new SiteHoppin blog. [...]
