Yes, great idea, maybe I will think of that although I think that might be too much marketing. Thanks for your support Alex. =)

Thanks Max!

Maybe have a 'call to action' for first time visitors (cookie). Have it say something like "before you leave, try our sitehoppin button to discover the web" (or some b/s like that :) )

Cheers,
Alex

Yes, Alex, if the guy "saw" the jeffdunham site and has nothing else to do, he will probably check out the homepage or click on the top-left corner, "SiteHoppin" button. This will turn into at least 1 click whereas before, we had a really big sidebar that distracted the visitor and forced him/her to click elsewhere.

That's 1 thing I forgot to mention, I stripped the sidebar and put in a new "text"-only header for faster loading speed plus people can really only click on "SiteHoppin", which needs no extra marketing or branding.

SiteHoppin itself is a word I chose carefully and I've been reading dozens of marketing/branding books lately and ALL of them tell you to send 1-message in this crazy world of too-much-information.

That's why we don't need to actually push SiteHoppin itself (As far as hopping goes), we simply need to recycle that "search" traffic, because people tend to like searching versus reading or anything else.

Anyways, I will have 1 of the 1st copies of my new book sent to you. It's all work in progress. :)

hmm. I see. Still not sure I understand what is anyone going to search for on your site, if they already looked it up on google. (don't get me wrong, I'm really with you on this. innovation is great and you may be creating history here).

Let's use the jeffdunham.com for example. I arrived to your site, saw the jeffdunham site, very well. What's next? Will that visitor even know what is Sitehoppin exactly? (but, it's 1am already and I'm beat, going to sleep) Catch you later!!

Well, basically we'd be providing domain search for people who are looking for domains that are no longer existant and whatnot. That makes up 99% of SH traffic currently and although it sounds kinda useless, we can make money off ads and also people will find out what SH is really about, hopping to different sites.

For example, current top search keyword from Google is:

jeffdunham.com (try typing on Google)

I am just trying to provide a useful service and build a good business model around what people are searching for and "want".

If that's what they want, we should change the site to fit that niche audience. This audience could be game-changer for SiteHoppin.

Well, it's a theory always but a good one I think than leaving it in hibernation. :p

Wait a minute...... I dig what you're saying on zedomax.biz, makes sense (although imo people need to see some content when they land on your blog [unless, they arrived to a post, and they see the post...] hmmm...)
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that search model makes sence.

Can you make a little bit clearer what are people searching for on sitehoppin.com? what do you mean when you say they're searching for a domain?

Cheers,
Alex
